For my senior studio, I redesigned the downtown of the rural city of Montezuma, Georgia. In addition to thorough site analysis and programming, I compiled the studio’s findings into an ArcGIS Storymap, found here.
The final presentations, Storymap, and posters were exhibited in the College of Environment and Design’s Circle Gallery for Summer 2023.

In a team with Aisha Iyengar, Patricia Quiñonez, and Dillon White, we designed a public park in Busan, South Korea that centered around the relationship between humanity and nature, especially in the urban fabric.
As part of the sustainability-focused studio, we took into consideration the socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental context of the site, from the displacement of local vendors in the nearby the historic Jagalchi fish market, to the massive department store bordering the site, to the rise in tourism in the city over the years.

With the lack of greenspace in the city, especially around the central business district the site is located in, a challenge was to integrate the park into the urban fabric, creating a respite for the wildlife in the city as well as people.
We proposed innovative ways of balancing the two: sculptural bird habitats, planted parametric structures, elevated pathways and trails in a maintained forest, and floodable waterfront terraces that bioremediate and mitigate the pollution of the harbor. Shipping containers would be repurposed into market stalls for vendors, extending the existing fish market.
